Deployment & Cloud Solutions

Getting software into production reliably, and keeping it there. We automate deployments, configure environments and put monitoring and backups in place so releases become routine.

01 · Overview

Release on a Tuesday afternoon without holding your breath

Many teams build good software and then deploy it by hand: a checklist, an SSH session and a lot of hope. We replace that with automated pipelines that test, build and release the same way every time, with health checks and a documented rollback.

We deploy to the platform that fits the application and the budget, from a single well-configured virtual server with Nginx and systemd to containers and managed services on AWS, Google Cloud or Azure. TLS, secrets, backups and monitoring are part of every setup.

Focus areas

  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Production environments
  • Zero-downtime releases
  • Cost and performance optimisation

Technologies

  • GitHub Actions and GitLab CI
  • Docker
  • Nginx and systemd
  • AWS, Google Cloud and Azure
  • Terraform
  • Let’s Encrypt

02 · Capabilities

What we deliver

Everything between a merged pull request and a healthy production system.

Application deployment

Web applications, APIs and workers deployed to virtual servers, containers or managed platforms.

Deployment automation

Pipelines that run tests, build artefacts and release with approvals, so every deployment is repeatable.

Reverse proxies

Nginx configuration for routing, load balancing, compression, caching, request limits and static files.

SSL/TLS

Automated certificate issuance and renewal, modern TLS settings and HSTS on every environment.

Monitoring

Uptime checks, error tracking, metrics dashboards and alerts routed to the right people.

Backups and environments

Automated, verified backups and separate staging and production environments managed through configuration.

03 · Approach

From manual steps to one command

We design the production environment, automate the path to it and hand over with runbooks your team can follow.

  1. 01

    Discovery and architecture

We review the application, traffic and budget, then design the environment.

    • Workload analysis
    • Hosting options
    • Environment design
    • Cost estimate
  2. 02

    Infrastructure setup

Servers or managed services, networking and certificates configured as code.

    • Servers or managed services
    • Networking and DNS
    • TLS certificates
    • Secrets management
  3. 03

    CI/CD and packaging

Automated build and release pipelines, with a staging environment to prove them.

    • Build pipeline
    • Container images where useful
    • Staging environment
    • Release and rollback scripts
  4. 04

    Monitoring and handover

Visibility and documentation so your team can operate with confidence.

    • Uptime and error monitoring
    • Log aggregation
    • Backup verification
    • Runbooks

04 · Technical considerations

The details that decide success

A reliable production setup is mostly about removing surprises.

Right-sized hosting
A single well-run server is often cheaper and simpler than a cluster. We recommend the least complex platform that meets your availability needs.
Zero-downtime releases
Rolling or blue-green releases, graceful reloads and database migrations designed to be backward compatible.
Configuration and secrets
Environment-based configuration with secrets stored in a manager or encrypted, never committed to the repository.
Rollback
Every release can be reverted quickly, and the procedure is written down and rehearsed.
Observability from day one
Logs, metrics and alerts are configured before launch, not after the first incident.
Cost awareness
Budgets, alerts and periodic right-sizing reviews prevent surprise cloud bills.

05 · Outcomes

What you can expect

  • Repeatable releases in minutes, not hours
  • Secure, monitored production environments
  • Tested backups and a clear rollback path
  • Hosting costs that match the workload

06 · FAQ

Deployment & Cloud Solutions: common questions

Ask us something else
Which cloud provider do you recommend?

We are provider-neutral. AWS, Google Cloud and Azure each have strengths, and for many applications a well-managed virtual server or platform service is the simplest choice. We recommend based on your workload, team and budget.

How do you achieve zero-downtime deployments?

With rolling or blue-green releases, health checks, graceful process reloads and database migrations written to work with both the old and new code during the switch.

Do you use containers and Kubernetes?

We use Docker when it simplifies building and running the application. Kubernetes is powerful but adds operational overhead, so we recommend it only when the workload genuinely needs it.

How do you keep cloud costs under control?

Right-sized instances, auto-scaling where it helps, storage lifecycle rules, budget alerts and regular reviews of what is actually being used.

What monitoring do you set up?

Uptime checks, application error tracking, centralised logs, key metrics and alerts, using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana or managed equivalents depending on your platform.
